Description
Grading reports often describe princess cut diamonds as square modified brilliants, distinguishing them from the step cut facet arrangements you find on other square diamonds like the Asscher cut. A princess cut diamond can also be rectangular or tapered. The pear-shaped diamond is a hybrid of the round and marquise shapes, offering both brilliance and a large surface area for increased size to weight ratio. Symmetry of Very Good or better is desirable, to ensure that the point (worn towards the base of the finger) lines up with the apex of the rounded end. This diamond has been certified by DIA.
